Surprise yourself with the exuberant nature that is expressed through lakes, hot springs and the wild volcanic landscape.

Culture and gastronomy

This region has been inhabited by the Mapuche people since long before borders as we know them today existed. Specifically, by the Pehuenche (“people of the pehuén [araucaria]”), who are the Mapuche people living in the mountainous region. We invite you to discover the valuable work that local communities have done to share their rich heritage through various experiences they offer, which you can book here. The most iconic cities in this region—Pucón, and Villarrica—have become increasingly cosmopolitan, from the arrival of European settlers to the present day, with foreigners falling in love with these lands and making them their home. This is how different cultures coexist, a reality reflected in the local cuisine, which is based on the wide variety of high-quality wild ingredients from the area, later prepared by numerous restaurants.

Tips
