Responsible tourism policy
We are firmly convinced that sustainable tourism serves as a crucial tool for safeguarding biodiversity, helping
the economy of local communities, and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the regions we explore. We
firmly believe that travel possesses the extraordinary power to transform lives, nurture empathy, and inspire
positive change.
Reducing carbon emissions
-
All of the meals we offer at our trips are local (no imported food)
-
We work with small, eco-friendly, locally-based accommodations with sustainable practices (no big hotel
chains). Some of these practices are:
-
Planting native trees
- Making compost out of organic waste
- Using organic products.
- Growing their own food
- Using clean energy - solar panels, hydraulic energy
- Implementation of 3 R’s (reduce, reuse, recycle)
- There is no single use plastic on our trips
- We recommend our travelers to conserve energy during their holidays (turn off the lights/TV, etc when
leaving the room, short showers, not to have their sheets/towels washed every day)
- We recommend activities where transportation is powered by humans (walking, cycling, kayaking) to our
travelers
- Whenever we include meals on our trips, we have vegetarian and vegan options.
Protecting and restoring nature and biodiversity
- Our guides not only take our travelers to beautiful places, but they also educate them about the local flora
and fauna, fostering a reconnection with nature. They serve as exemplary role models, promoting protection,
respect, and conservation.
- Activities focused on observing wild fauna, with an emphasis on respect and education, such as birdwatching
and whale watching.
- On our trips, we take our travelers to various national parks, where they can admire biodiversity and, in
turn, develop a greater sensitivity toward the local flora and fauna.
- We promote a no single-use plastic and zero-waste policy, emphasizing the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
- In the short term, we hope to donate 1% of our sales to conservation projects.
- We carefully select the boutique hotels, lodges or cabins we work with based on sustainability practices.
- We provide our travelers with a series of recommendations to avoid damage to the environment where the
activities are located.
Providing local benefits from tourism
A significant percentage of our program sales stay within a 100 km radius of the places where we operate,
benefiting local hotels, lodges, guides, tour operators, restaurants, and more. During our getaways, we aim to
connect our travelers with local culture, enriching the lives of residents by celebrating and highlighting their
own cultural heritage and natural environment.
