Itinerary · 5 days · 4 nights
During this trip you will take 4 different tours:
1) Geysers del Tatio;
2) Cejar Lagoon + Ojos del Salar + Tebinquinche Lagoon;
3) the Moon Valley;
4) the Red Rocks (Piedras Rojas) & Altiplanic Lagoons (Miscanti & Miñique), the Chaxa Lagoon, and the Tropic of Capricorn.
The following itinerary is tentative, since the order of the activities could vary according to availability.
Day 1
- Check in from 15.00hrs. Once you arrive at the Kimal hotel they will be waiting for you with a welcome drink - The hotel is located very close to different restaurants where you can try the variaty of San Pedro de Atacama's gastronomy
Day 2
- Breakfast - Tour in the afternoon: the Moon Valley. Pick up from your hotel at 15:00hrs. Includes snack, juice and pisco sour. Enterance fee not included. - Return to the hotel at 19:00hrs
Day 3
- Lunch box for your breakfast - Morning tour: the Tatio Geysers. Pick up from the hotel between 4.30hrs and 5.00hrs. The tour includes breakfast. Entrance fee not included. - Return to the hotel at 12:00hrs - Afternoon tour: Cejar Lagoon + Ojos del Salar + Tebinquiche Lagoon. Pick up from the hotel at 14:50hrs. The tour includes snack, juice and pisco sour. Entrance fee not included. - Return to your hotel at 20:00hrs.
Day 4
- Lunch box for your breakfast - Full day tour. Pick up from your hotel between 6:00 and 6:40hrs. On this tour we will go along the international route towards Argentina. We will visit Aguas Calientes salt flat, and Piedras Rojas (Red Rocks) together with the Miscanti and Miñiques altiplanic lagoons. We will stop at the Tropic of Capricorn, and on the way back you will visit the Laguna Chaxa where there is the highest concentration of flamingos in Chile. If you are lucky you will be able to see all 3 species that live in our country! The tour includes breakfast, and lunch. Entrance fee not included. - Return to the hotel at 17:45hrs.
Day 5
- Breakfast - Check out at 11.00hrs
Practical info
What to bring
- Comfortable clothing for the tours. It should be considered that in the desert the temperatures vary between degrees below 0 (during the morning and night) and high temperatures during the day
- Refillable water bottle
- Sun protection: sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen
- Thermal clothing for the tour to Geysers del Tatio. The minimum temperature is -6 °C in summer and -17 °C in winter, so we always recommend wearing very warm clothing
- A towel for Cejar Lagoon
